Life Is Good - For Now

So you may be wondering if I ever got my script written (see previous blog post.) Or maybe you're not...

Well, if you are wondering, I didn't. I do, however, have a good reason. Several, in fact. Let's see, where to start...

OK, first - I lost my job. Yes, my job. My livelihood. My boring, dead-end, ball-and-chain that I endured for 11 years. Do I sound relieved? I am! Oh, at the time I was in shock. How else would one feel if their major means of support was suddenly yanked out from underneath them? And please don't ask me why it happened. I've already explained that to about a thousand friends and relatives, and I'm tired of the story. Let's just say I was scared for about two weeks. Really scared.

Second - My 18 year old daughter had her car wrecked for her. I have spent the last month and a half trying to find her something that is 1)affordable, 2)reliable, 3)insurable, and most importantly, 4)something she likes. Not an easy task, let me tell you! I finally found something that cost only $100 more than the repairs to the old car - plus, she likes it. Yippee!!

Third - Remember when I said I was relieved about losing my job? Here's why: I found a new one! Yes, that's right, I have landed in the private sector, at last! No more legislative mandates for program changes, no more IT consolidation, just plain, simple IT consulting. I love it! I have been so engrossed in learning how it all works that I have completely forgotten to write.

By the time all of this stuff happened, the deadline for script submissions had already passed. So, it may be too late for my script to get into this season's line-up, but there's always next year. I'll keep it on a back burner for now. Until then, I'll try to do a better job keeping this blog up-to-date, but I won't make any promises. You never know when life might get in the way again!
